The Tom Byrne Memorial Scholarship Award
Tom Byrne was a 1967 graduate of St.
Joseph High School. He was married to his high school sweetheart Anna
Budniak (also class of 1967) for 47 years and was a devoted husband,
father, grandfather and brother.
Tom was a teacher with Gloucester County Special Services, a member of
the Knights of Columbus, a director of the Gloucester County Special
Olympics, President of the Sean Byrne Foundation, a co-contributor to
the Miracle Field of Gloucester County, and a South Jersey Football Hall
of Fame inductee.
The St. Joe's Bisons Club in association with Runnemede VFW Post 3324 is
proud to honor Tom's profound belief in helping others by presenting
yearly awards of $500 to deserving children, grandchildren or great
grandchildren of Bisons Club members, both male and female. The number
and amounts of awards may vary depending on the success of the fund
raisers conducted. All efforts of the committee are voluntary and all
monies collected will be awarded.
